ECONOMIC JUSTICE:

HOMELESS EMPLOYMENT ADVOCACY COMMITTEE [HEAC]:  

HEAC conducts three hiring events annually.

Advocacy Priorities:

  • Ensure that there are employment opportunities for people experiencing homelessness in regional infrastructure projects;

 

  • Advocate to the City and County to create a Homeless Employment Program including a quality Day Labor program for homeless people;

 

  • Partner with Legal Services of Northern CA to ensure that the homeless assistance programs of the County's General Assistance and CalWORKs programs are accessible to homeless people;

 

  • Expand the funding of the Sacramento Employment & Training Agency's successful PathWays to Employment.
